Taking Oprah’s Advice
We all listened and watched when Oprah was on everyday at 4pm. She was a household name. The saying, “Oprah said …” was a typical reference for people’s arguments. Her show was THE show to be on if you were somebody.
Even though she went off air before I could sit down on her couch, I was able to sit down on my couch and listen to a few impressive guests. Their advice changed my life. I took their advice and applied it to my nonprofit and never looked back.
There isn’t too many words that have ranged true for a long period of time such as these, so I’m eternally grateful to those individuals. Throughout my nonprofit career, their advice couldn’t be more spot on. Listen along with me as I share with you my take on Oprah’s advice.
The Problem: there are so many grants how there that it can be overwhelming to tackle.
The Challenge: finding a funder who will work with you, community, and what you do.
The Solution: as you continue to do the great social good work in your community, do not settle for anything less than the abundance of resources you need to succeed.
Dream Big and Godspeed.
