Pray or Worry, You Can’t Do Both!
Not too long ago, I was going through a difficult time in my life. My mom gave me some strong advice that I’ve never heard before. She said, “Either pray and not worry, or worry and don’t pray. But you can’t do both!” And I was like, “whoaaaa…. that’s deep.”
Depending on the biblical version, Philippians 4:6 (MSG) really wraps it up for me:
“Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.”
In the Pentecostal Church of God in Christ church, we say “let go and let God.” Keep it simple, right?! Give your problems, fears, challenges, anger and issues to Him. There’s nothing that He can’t solve.
Pray about it. Fast on it. Move on and watch how God works it out for your victory. You can either pray or worry, but you can’t do both. Let God worry for you.
God bless you!
