Debunking Business as Personal

Too many times I have heard people say “it’s not personal, it’s business.” Well, we’re going to debunk it in this podcast. My business is very personal, and I want you to know why without spoiling the episode.

I’ve never seen anyone build something they didn’t protect. From my kids and to my grandparents, they’re very protective of their “creation.” It’s an obvious question that doesn’t get properly framed. Why would you let anyone destroy what you built?

Yes, business is business. However, there is a context to why it is business.

The three reasons I cover in the episode are true for almost (99.9%) of founders, leaders and anyone who has committed themselves to the organization. If you find these reasons are true for your situation, then you understand why the saying, “it’s not personal, it’s business” is not true.
